While enrolled at New York University, Liz Alting and Paul Shawe started TransPerfect Translations, Inc., a translation service aimed at businesses. The partners spent many hours marketing their new business from their dorm rooms, but their hard work paid off as their client list and number of repeat customers grew. Today, TransPerfect Translations is one of the largest translations firms in the world with 14 offices on three continents, a network of 3,300 translators, and $15 million in sales!
